About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Long-form Video Editor to join our content team and bring our YouTube vision to life. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting engaging, high-quality long-form video content that captivates audiences and drives channel growth. You'll transform raw footage into polished narratives, working closely with creators, producers, and the content team to deliver videos that resonate with our viewers and align with our brand voice.

Key Responsibilities

Video Editing and Production You will edit long-form YouTube videos from start to finish, including cutting footage, color correction, audio mixing, and adding graphics and effects. This involves creating compelling narratives through effective pacing, transitions, and storytelling techniques that maintain viewer engagement throughout longer video formats.

Post-Production Excellence You'll manage all aspects of post-production including sound design, music selection, color grading, and visual effects. This includes ensuring audio clarity, balancing dialogue and music levels, and creating a cohesive visual style that enhances the viewing experience.

Content Optimization You will optimize videos for YouTube's platform, understanding best practices for retention, pacing, and engagement. This includes creating engaging openings, implementing effective hooks, and structuring content to maximize watch time and audience retention metrics.

Collaboration and Workflow You'll work closely with content creators, scriptwriters, and producers to understand the vision for each video and provide creative input. This involves participating in planning sessions, suggesting improvements, and maintaining efficient workflows to meet publication schedules.

Asset Management You will organize and manage video assets, project files, and archives using efficient file management systems. This includes maintaining version control, backing up projects, and ensuring all materials are properly catalogued for future reference.

Required Qualifications

We're seeking candidates with proven experience editing long-form video content, particularly for YouTube or similar platforms. You should have expert-level proficiency in professional video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.

Strong storytelling abilities and understanding of narrative pacing, structure, and audience engagement are essential. You'll need demonstrated skills in color correction and grading, audio editing and mixing, and motion graphics. Experience with Adobe After Effects or similar motion graphics software is important.

Understanding of YouTube's platform, algorithm, and best practices for long-form content is required. You should be familiar with different video formats, codecs, and export settings for optimal YouTube playback. Knowledge of current trends in YouTube content and what resonates with audiences is valuable.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under deadlines while maintaining high quality standards is crucial. Strong communication skills and ability to accept and implement feedback are necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with sound design and audio post-production, including mixing, mastering, and noise reduction would be advantageous. Familiarity with animation and advanced motion graphics is a plus. Skills in thumbnail creation and basic graphic design would be valuable.

Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and working with content calendars is beneficial. Knowledge of YouTube analytics and how editing choices impact viewer retention and engagement would strengthen your application. Familiarity with project management tools and collaborative workflows is welcomed.

A portfolio or showreel demonstrating your editing work on long-form content is highly desirable.
